Prepare the Easy Brisket Hash ingredients

I cooked this recipe on my Weber Slate Griddle. But this could easily be replicated on any other grill using a cast iron skillet or on the stove top.

This is the perfect recipe to make for breakfast since it doesn’t require a lot of time, you’re using leftover protein - which means little cooking and little ingredients you probably already have at home.

prepared chopped ingredients in black bowls.

Now, while I made this for breakfast, this savory dish can just as easily be enjoyed for lunch or dinner. It’s filling, delicious and super customizable.

Start by dicing the leftover smoked brisket. Remove any large pieces of fat. Make sure to cut the pieces into very small shreds.

Next, dice up the veggies. I kept it simple for this recipe using a red and yellow bell pepper, a jalapeno and half an onion. Other veggies options include butternut squash for some fall flair, zucchini, red onion, mushroom or any other fiber you desire.

I bought shredded hash browns at the store, so those were already prepared for me. If you have any potatoes laying around, dice those into small pieces.

Recipe Tip

Sweet potatoes are a fantastic alternative to regular hash browns for a slightly sweeter base.

Dad’s Seasonings

Must have grillin seasonings!

Easy meal on the griddle

Preheat the griddle or any cooking surface over direct medium heat. Add some olive oil to the cooking top and wait until the surface heats up.

Drop in the hash browns first. These will take the longest time to soften and crisp up. Next to them, add the veggies. Season everything with Dad’s Steak Seasoning and saute until it’s soft in texture.

Cooked brisket hash scooped up on a spatula.

Finally, add in the chopped brisket and warm it up.

Combine the ingredients on the griddle and mix until everything is nicely blended. Add in a tablespoon of butter and melt in the middle like you would for fried rice. This adds some fattiness and flavor to the quick and easy brisket hash.

Once everything is cooked, warm and soft, remove it from the griddle and fry the eggs on a clean surface. I made sunny side up eggs and left the yolk nice and runny.

Plating

My Easy Brisket Hash dish was simple. I plated a pile of the brisket hash on my plate, placed the sunny side up egg on top, added some hot sauce and freshly chopped parsley and went in for the bite.

There are so many toppings to add to this brisket hash recipe. Dress it up how you like and make it your own.
