Garlic-Maple Pork Chops are super delicious, easy to make, and perfect for weekday meal planning. These pork chops are grilled to perfection and then brushed with a delectable maple glaze halfway through cooking.

We developed this recipe some time ago after purchasing a large pack of bone-in pork chops and receiving a generous bottle of pure maple syrup from Canada. This recipe is the result of merging these two ingredients, and it did not disappoint! With a light kiss of smoke from the grill, it truly as one for the books!
Why use maple syrup to flavor pork chops?
Maple syrup adds a hint of sweetness that balances well with pork’s natural flavor. It also creates a delicious candied surface.
Ingredients
- 6 rib chops: bone-in chops work great for this recipe!
- Fresh herb of choice: oregano, tarragon, or parsley
- Salt and black pepper
- Granulated onion: or onion powder
- Herbes de Provence: sub with dried oregano and rosemary
- Granulated garlic powder: sub with garlic powder
- Real maple syrup: avoid pancake syrup or maple-flavored syrup.
- Dijon mustard: sub with yellow or grainy mustard
- Soy sauce: or tamari for gluten-free diets
- Chili powder: standard American-style chili powder
- Vegetable or olive oil

How to Make Garlic-Maple Pork Chops
- Preheat your grill to 350°F.
- Prepare the glaze: Warm the maple syrup in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Combine glaze ingredients, cover, and set aside.
- Prepare the chops: Blot the pork chops dry with paper towels and brush them with a small amount of grapeseed or olive oil.
- Season the chops: Combine the kosher salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder in a small bowl. Season pork chops evenly on both sides.
- Grill the chops: Place the chops on the grill and cook them for 18-20 minutes. Watch for flare-ups, adjust the heat, or move the chops to a cooler part of the grill and finish cooking indirectly.
- Apply the glaze: Halfway through cooking, brush the glaze on the chops. Turn them, and repeat the process every few minutes, until all of the glaze is used.
- Remove and rest: Once the chops have reached an internal temperature of 145°F, remove them from the grill and loosely tent with aluminum foil. Let them rest for 5 minutes.
- Finishing touches: Serve these grilled maple pork chops garnished with your herb of choice.
- Optional step: Lightly drizzle chops with additional warmed maple syrup before serving.

Pork Chop FAQs:
- Can I use different chops? Yes, you can use different chops such as boneless or bone-in loin chops, or tomahawk pork chops. You will need to increase your cooking times if using larger chops.
- What should I serve with Garlic-Maple Pork Chops? The beauty of these chops is that they pair well with most side dishes. Serve them with rice, quinoa, or heartier sides like Pellet Grill Funeral Potatoes or Pellet Grill Baked Potatoes. They also pair well with Grilled Zucchini Skins or Cauliflower Steaks.
- What kind of grill can I use? Any outdoor grill will work for this pork chop recipe. I recommend using charcoal, but I have also prepared this recipe using a pellet grill and a gas grill with great results!
- Can I make these pork chops in the oven? Yes, you can! Bake the chops in a parchment-lined pan for 10 minutes at 400°F. Remove chops from the oven. Reduce the oven heat to 350°F., and coat the chops on both sides with the maple mixture. Place the pan with the chops back into the oven and continue baking for 15+ minutes (depending on thickness) until the chops reach an internal temperature between 145-150°F. Watch for burning.
