The 1957 Lancia B24S Convertible America ($395k) is a testament to both meticulous craftsmanship and a rich ownership history that has seen it traverse the globe and pass through the hands of several passionate collectors. This particular Lancia has been cherished and cared for by its numerous owners, each contributing to its storied past and pristine condition.
Originally sold in 1957 to Mr. Mario Molanca of Bologna, Italy, the Lancia was first registered under the number PI 45967. After five years, it changed hands on April 2, 1962, to Mr. Lino Patriarchi of Pisa, Italy. Mr. Patriarchi, however, promptly sold the car to Mr. Paolo Manzelli, also of Pisa, on August 4, 1962. Mr. Manzelli, in turn, quickly sold the vehicle in September of the same year to Ms. Rosario Antonacci of Cermenate, Italy. Under Ms. Antonacci’s ownership, the Lancia remained for 12 years, marking a period of stability before being sold to Mr. Giogio Colfi of Lesmo, Italy, on November 23, 1974, and registered as MI V84885.
Mr. Colfi’s tenure with the car was marked by a profound appreciation, as he maintained possession of the Lancia for an impressive 32 years. On February 19, 2006, the car seemingly transitioned within the Colfi family, moving to Mr. Massimo Colfi of Lesmo, Italy. Mr. Massimo Colfi enjoyed the Lancia for another two years, during which it was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in 2006.
The Lancia’s journey then took it to Biella, Italy, into the hands of Mr. Renato Novarese on July 24, 2006, where it remained for 12 more years. During this period, the car continued to be cherished and enjoyed. In 2014, renowned collector Mr. Leo Schigiel of Miami Beach, Florida, acquired the Lancia. Recognizing its potential, Mr. Schigiel embarked on a thorough two-year restoration, completed in 2016. The restored car made its debut at the prestigious Amelia Island Concours in 2017, where it was shown in its full glory.
Following a series of successful showings and much enjoyment, the Lancia entered a prestigious collection of concours showcars, a collection noted for its Pebble Beach winners. Within this esteemed collection, the 1957 Lancia B24S Convertible America has been meticulously cared for, ensuring it remains in top condition. A recent 20-mile round trip test drive to Key Biscayne, Miami, confirmed its flawless performance, further solidifying its status as a prime example of Italian automotive artistry.
Representing a fine piece of Italian sports car history, this Lancia comes complete with a detailed history file, restoration book, and accompanying documents, tools, and jack. Finished in Rosso Scuro over Tan, this numbers-matching, fully restored example is eligible for numerous prestigious Concours events and road tour rallies worldwide, including the California Mille, the Colorado Grand, Amelia Island Concours, and Miami Concours.
