The Brian Eno Turntable II has a price tag of £20,000 and though this is undoubtedly a hefty outlay, you can at least be happy in the knowledge that you’ll be in super exclusive company if you do get your hands on one. Only 150 of these turntables will be produced worldwide and given their limited numbers, they are likely to be immensely popular amongst serious vinyl aficionados. Each one will have its Signature and Edition number engraved on the side of the base.

Brian Eno’s Turntable II is available to buy from the Paul Stolper Gallery and it is made up of a round platter and base, which change colours independently, seamlessly phasing through combinations of generative ‘colourscapes’ – a highly engaging feature that will definitely turn heads aplenty. The pattern of the lights, the speed at which they change and how they change are programmed into the turntable but they will change randomly and slowly.

The turntable can play both 33 and 45rpm vinyl and uses the same sorts of generative processes in music as in painting, based on overlapping unsynchronised cycles. Several overlapping light cycles will keep coming up with different colour balances and hues – and different shadow formations that slowly evolve ensuring that you never get the same two cycles. Experience exceptional sound quality with the Pro-Ject 8.6” aluminium tonearm featuring an Ortofon 2M cartridge in a stunning white finish.

The precision-cast acrylic platter and high-precision stainless steel bearing block ensure smooth and stable rotation, while the belt-driven 15V motor with two speeds (33 & 45 RPM) and electronic speed switch provide accurate and reliable performance. The control board with a 5V adapter and Arduino and addressable RGB LEDs add a touch of modern technology and customization to your listening experience.
