The Dallas Cowboys have been streaking, and they will take their five wins in a row to Upstate New York this Sunday to face the Buffalo Bills.
The Cowboys are 10-3 and are currently in first place in the NFC East, while the Bills are struggling at 7-6 and fighting for their playoff lives.
One would think that there is more pressure on the Bills than on Dallas in this contest, but James Jones said on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak” that Dallas actually needs this win more.
In particular, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott needs this win more because, in his mind, Prescott isn’t on the same level as his opposite QB Josh Allen.
“Show you are better than him for one Sunday,” Jones said.
It seems odd to hear Jones make that statement, as Prescott is currently the favorite to win the regular season MVP award and is the NFL’s current leader in touchdown passes with 28.
Meanwhile, while Allen is tied with the San Francisco 49ers’ Brock Purdy for the second-most touchdown passes, he’s also tied for the most thrown interceptions this season with 14.
Prescott has been on a tear lately, and many feel he has been playing the best football of his life over the past few weeks.
However, the narrative that he fails to measure up in big games and in the playoffs lingers, and for him to get rid of that narrative, he will have to take the Cowboys to the Super Bowl, a place they haven’t been to in over 25 years.
The next step toward accomplishing that goal is to defeat the Bills and outplay Allen on Sunday.
