The Dallas Cowboys scored their most impressive win in a while on Sunday when they routed the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles, 33-13.

They controlled the contest from start to finish, and their offense has been dynamite of late, as it was the fifth straight game and the sixth time in their last seven contests they have scored at least 33 points.

Head coach Mike McCarthy has been masterfully directing the NFL’s No. 1 scoring offense, and Mina Kimes, per NFL on ESPN, noted that he has expressed lots of confidence in his players this year.

This was shown with McCarthy’s decision to let his offense get to work after getting the ball back with under two minutes left in the first half when some other teams may have simply let the clock run down.

It resulted in a touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to wide receiver Michael Gallup with 23 seconds remaining to put Dallas ahead 24-6 after an extra-point attempt was converted by Brandon Aubrey.

Prescott didn’t have one of his best games on Sunday, but overall, he has been brilliant of late, and many feel he is currently the favorite, or at least the co-favorite along with the San Francisco 49ers’ Brock Purdy, to win the regular-season MVP award.

Prescott is leading the league with 28 touchdown passes, while wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is third in receiving yards and fourth in receiving touchdowns.

With a 10-3 record, Dallas now has a real shot at not only finishing first in the NFC East but in the entire conference as well.
