The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their second straight Super Bowl title and, as a result, are the first team in the NFL to pull off a repeat since Tom Brady’s New England Patriots.
With the Chiefs winning back-to-back titles, the pressure only mounts to become the first team in NFL history to pull off a three-peat, which is possible with the talent Kansas City has been able to retain.
The most significant move for the Chiefs since they got the best of the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl was retaining defensive tackle Chris Jones, who hit NFL free agency once again with plenty of teams vying for his services.
Fortunately for Kansas City, the team was able to keep Jones on the squad and also placed a franchise tag on cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.
Even though those were solid moves, the team needed to address the wide receiver position, and it did so by bringing in Marquise Brown, formerly of the Arizona Cardinals.
In the aftermath of the Brown signing, the Chiefs’ odds to win it all next season have improved, according to Dov Kleiman.
So far, the Chiefs have done all the right things and would be a force to be reckoned with once again if the season started tomorrow, but there’s still more moves that can be made in free agency and the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Chiefs brass has up its sleeves moving forward and if the team can continue to improve the squad.
