After a stellar 2023 NFL regular season, the Dallas Cowboys headed into the NFL playoffs as the second seed in the NFC with high hopes of being able to go the distance and win that elusive Super Bowl title.
Unfortunately, the team totally underestimated Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers in the first round and paid for it dearly, losing on their home field and going home empty-handed once again with a lot of questions surrounding the storied franchise.
With the Cowboys flaming out in epic fashion in the postseason, many expected some major changes to the roster and possibly a coaching change, but neither ended up happening.
Instead, the most significant move the team has made this offseason is bringing back veteran running back Ezekiel Elliott, which Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports believes will impact Prescott greatly moving forward, via “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.”
“They will be more dependent on Dak Prescott than ever before,” Cowherd said.
Although bringing back Elliott probably is a smart move for Dallas, it isn’t substantial in terms of correcting things that went wrong when the team needed to play up to its potential in the playoffs.
It’ll be interesting to see how Prescott plays during the upcoming 2024 NFL season and how that will impact his future with the team, as it’s safe to say that he’ll be playing for his job and a massive contract extension, which means he’s got everything to lose if he plays poorly and fails to live up to expectations.
