The Green Bay Packers have one of the youngest rosters in the NFL with an average player age of 25.

As such, the team is prone to ups and downs, as evidenced by Green Bay’s 24-22 loss to the New York Giants on Monday night.

The Packers sit at 6-7 on the year and, while they aren’t completely out of the playoff hunt, have not played consistently this season.

That is a symptom of their youth, Colin Cowherd said Tuesday.

“This is the growing pains of being a really young football team,” Cowherd said. “… I think they’re going to be fine.”

Cowherd even predicted the Packers would win their remaining games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Bears to finish 10-7 and likely make the playoffs.

The Packers had been red-hot coming into Week 14 after winning four of their past five games and scoring at least 20 points in those wins.

First-year starter Jordan Love had looked great during that stretch as well with at least 250 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in four of those games.

But the turnovers tanked the Packers against the Giants – both of which were caused by Love.

He fumbled the ball and threw an interception on consecutive drives in the second quarter.

However, the defense didn’t let the Giants score off either turnover, and a forced fumble by Green Bay gave Love the chance to lead a potential game-winning drive.

Love threw a touchdown with 1:33 left in the game to take the lead, only to watch the Giants drive down the field and kick the game-sealing field goal.

But as Cowherd said, there’s still time for the Packers to make the postseason.
