The Super Bowl hangover appeared to come later in the 2023 NFL season for the Philadelphia Eagles as they stumbled in the second half of the year before getting bounced in the Wild Card Round.
It was a dispiriting end to the Eagles’ season as they started off hot and looked like they could make it back to the Super Bowl.
However, there was clearly stuff going on behind the scenes that derailed the team and now they have to figure out how to bounce back in the offseason.
Philadelphia is still set at quarterback with Jalen Hurts, but the strength of the roster has always been the offensive line.
The O-line is talented at every spot, though there are doubts about Jason Kelce returning in 2024.
Jordan Mailata believes Kelce’s last snap came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers via NBC.
“There’s no shot. You’re telling me he’s going shirts off in the games, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way. He’s having too much fun. He’s out there living his life. And I’m going to miss him for sure, man,” Mailata said.
Kelce was a fixture at Kansas City Chiefs games after the Eagles were eliminated and to Mailata’s point he appeared genuinely happy to be rooting for his brother from the stands.
The stalwart center has been one of the best at his position for years, and his retirement would leave a huge hole in the middle of Philadelphia’s offensive line.
So far, Kelce hasn’t publicly announced he’s retiring but it feels like his career has finally come to an end.
