After the Chicago Bears traded the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers last year, the team chose to give Justin Fields another season to prove his worth as a potential franchise quarterback moving forward.
Ultimately, the team passed up the opportunity to bring in a franchise quarterback, while the Houston Texans brought in C.J. Stroud, who led the team to the NFL playoffs in his first season on the NFL level.
Fortunately for Chicago, the team has another opportunity to bring in another potential franchise quarterback, with USC superstar Caleb Williams entering the draft and expected to go No. 1 with the Bears owning that pick for a second straight season.
Along with having the opportunity to draft a franchise quarterback, the Bears have made a number of moves during the offseason to improve the roster and give Williams an opportunity to win sooner rather than later.
Joy Taylor of FOX Sports believes that the Bears deserve an “A” for what they’ve done during this offseason, via “Speak” on FS1.
With all signs pointing to the Bears bringing in Williams, Chicago will be an interesting team to watch from here on out, as this team could make some noise in the NFC if things come together quickly the way they did with Stroud and the Texans last season.
The additions of Keenan Allen, D’Andre Swift, and Gerald Everett are all steps in the right direction for the Bears offense as this team tries to turn the corner during the 2024 campaign.
