After a brilliant 2022 NFL season, where the New York Giants saw a great head coach emerge in Brian Daboll and star quarterback Daniel Jones potentially come into his own, the future looked bright in the Big Apple with some high expectations coming into the 2023 campaign.

Unfortunately for the Giants, New York came back to earth pretty quickly this past season, with Jones no longer looking like a potential franchise quarterback and the team falling apart more and more with every passing week.

With Jones possibly no longer in the team’s long-term plans, New York could draft a young quarterback at No. 6 in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft and/or bring in another veteran quarterback to help turn things around for the franchise.

Veteran quarterback Russell Wilson will be available during this NFL offseason, with the Denver Broncos moving on from him after two disappointing seasons.

Wilson could be an option for New York, but Nick Wright of FOX Sports doesn’t see that being an improvement over Jones, via “First Things First.”

“Russell Wilson is not a significant upgrade on Daniel Jones,” Wright said. “Russ is not good.”

At this point, the smart move for the Giants seems to be taking a young quarterback at No. 6 or trading up to grab one of the top-tier quarterbacks available like Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, or Jayden Daniels.

It’s time for a rebuild offensively in New York, and using the draft to start that process seems like the smart move rather than gambling on Wilson to be a game-changer for this team.
