The start of the 2024 NFL Draft is only a few days away, with the Chicago Bears officially set to be on the clock on April 25, with the consensus being that they’ll select USC superstar quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick.

While the first pick seems to be set in stone at this point in time, things won’t start to get interesting until the Washington Commanders are on the clock at No. 2 overall, where they could take quarterback Drake Maye out of the University of North Carolina or LSU’s Jayden Daniels.

The first 10 picks in the upcoming draft will likely include many players on the offensive side of the football, with this draft class being very talented at quarterback and wide receiver.

However, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility that a potential defensive star could be taken in the top 10, with the Atlanta Falcons looking like a team that could go in that direction.

According to Jaime Eisner of The Draft Network, UCLA star defensive end Laiatu Latu is the new favorite to be taken by the Falcons at No. 8 overall on Thursday.

The Falcons headed into this NFL offseason determined to make some moves in order to right the ship sooner rather than later, as they hired Raheem Morris to be Arthur Smith’s successor at head coach and signed veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins to be their new starter under center.

Along with these moves, the team could use a boost defensively, with Latu being a welcome addition in Atlanta.
