The Miami Dolphins’ Raheem Mostert may not be one of the best running backs in the NFL, but he’s coming off a very productive 2023 season.

He ran for a career-high 1,012 yards and was tied with the San Francisco 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey for the league’s most rushing touchdowns at 18.

As shared by Dov Kleiman on Twitter, Mostert made a big claim: that he’s the fastest player on the Dolphins roster.

This is a wild claim, considering they boast Tyreek Hill, one of the NFL’s very best wide receivers and likely its fastest in the open field.

Mostert, like Hill, was a track and field athlete in his younger years, and he won a gold medal in two events during the 2014 Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Mostert played sparingly for four teams before making his way to the San Francisco 49ers in 2016.

It was there that he started to find himself as a pro running back, and he was a key part of the 2019 team that went to the Super Bowl.

He joined Miami prior to the 2022 season, which reunited him with Miami head coach Mike McDaniel, who was a member of the 49ers coaching staff when Mostert was there.

Mostert’s improved production was a big reason why the Dolphins ranked first in rushing touchdowns, second in points, and first in total yards last season.

After winning 11 games and losing in the Wild Card round of the playoffs to the Kansas City Chiefs, they’re looking to take the next step this fall.
