After missing the playoffs, the Seattle Seahawks made the controversial decision to part ways with former head coach Pete Carroll.

The Seahawks took their time finding Carroll’s replacement, but landed on Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald.

Macdonald will be serving as a head coach for the first time in his career and thus began the process of filling out his inaugural coaching staff.

The NFC West features teams like the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers that boast dangerous offenses that can give any team problems.

Meanwhile, Seattle will be led by Geno Smith who recently had the injury guarantee in his contract guaranteed earlier this week.

With Smith under center for at least one more season, the Seahawks are bringing in Charles London to be their new quarterbacks coach via Jonathan Jones of CBS.

London has spent the past three seasons in the same role between the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons.

Prior to that, London served as the running backs coach for the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans so he has experience in both phases of the offense.

Having someone like London on the sidelines should help Smith bounce back as a passer, though Seattle has some work to do to reach the same levels as Los Angeles or San Francisco.

However, the foundation appears set for 2024 and the Seahawks can bolster their chances with solid free agency signings and draftees.
