Steelers Announce T.J. Watt Injury Update

The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t done themselves any favors the past two weeks as they’ve lost very winnable games to the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots.

The Steelers are building some real momentum toward the playoffs, but losses to the Cardinals and Patriots put a real damper on their postseason hopes.

Against New England, Pittsburgh trailed big early and spent the entire afternoon trying to catch up.

Making things worse, not only did the Steelers lose but they placed T.J. Watt in the league’s concussion protocol after he started to experience symptoms.

Watt didn’t look hurt during the game, though he did briefly leave after taking a knee to the chin.

However, it looks like the star pass rusher will be good to go for Week 15 as he was cleared from concussion protocol via Burt Lauten.

“LB T.J. Watt has been cleared by an independent neurological consultant and is no longer in the concussion protocol,” Lauten tweeted.

Because the Steelers played on Thursday Night Football last week, Watt had a little more time to clear protocol and it looks like he’s done just that.

Watt returned to practice in a limited fashion, meaning he has a great shot of playing against the Indianapolis Colts.

Watt’s one of the most disruptive defensive players in the league, and he needs to be on the field to give Pittsburgh’s defense the boost it needs to get out of its current funk.

The Colts have been a scrappy team all season and won’t just lie down, so hopefully Watt isn’t limited when the two teams meet on Sunday.
