The Tennessee Titans could be a very different team next season.
Mike Vrabel won’t be calling the shots anymore, and it’s the dawn of a new era in Nashville.
Will Levis will take the reins from day one, and he looked much better than both Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis, so that’s obviously an encouraging sign for the future.
However, not everything will be positive.
According to a report by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, veteran kicker Nick Folk is now expected to test the free-agent market.
Folk is coming off an incredible season in Tennessee, knocking down 29 out of 30 field-goal attempts.
The Titans traded for him right before the start of the season, hoping to put an end to the musical chairs game they had at the position.
Now, with the Titans unlikely to be a Super Bowl contender, the soon-to-be 37-year-old kicker is going to try and take his talents to some place he can compete in the playoffs.
This could open the door for someone like former Cleveland Browns kicker Cade York, who joined their practice squad at the beginning of last season before finishing the campaign with the New York Giants.
As for Folk, he shouldn’t find a lot of trouble taking his talents somewhere else, as he’s still one of the best kickers in the game despite his age.
