Easy Grilled Peaches (With Cinnamon-Brown Sugar)

These easy grilled peaches make the perfect dessert for any occasion! Not only are peaches delicious, but grilling caramelizes the surface, enhancing their natural fruit flavor. These sweet peach halves are taken straight off the grill and served with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Grilled peaches not only make a fantastic dessert, but they are also incredibly versatile. You can slice them to use as a topping for cakes or in peach cobbler, incorporate them into chutneys and sauces, or pair them with grilled pork and other savory recipes. The best part is that this recipe requires only five ingredients, and it’s a great way to use up extra peaches.

Choosing the perfect peach

We can all agree that peaches are delicious, but it’s important to know which ones are are perfectly ripe. Start by looking for round peaches that have a sweet aroma, are rose-colored, and have a slightly soft feel; they should be neither too firm nor too squishy. If they have an overpowering smell or collapse when pressed, they are overripe. Look for “in season” white or yellow peaches at your local farmers market or grocery store.

How to grill peaches

  • Grill setup: Preheat your grill to 400°F or medium-high heat.
  • Prep the peaches: Wash the peaches and gently pat the skins dry with paper towels. Cut each peach in half lengthwise. Remove the pits. Brush a little oil on the flesh side of each peach half.
  • Assemble the mixture: Combine your cinnamon-sugar mixture in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Grill the peaches: Place peach halves on the grill grates cut-side down and cook them for 3-4 minutes, or until they develop grill marks.
  • Brush with mixture: Turn the peaches over and brush each with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes or until the sugar starts to melt.
  • Remove and serve: Promptly remove them from the grill and plate 1-2 peach halves per person. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with warm caramel sauce or honey.
  • Leftovers: Store leftover in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Serving grilled peaches

If you have a sweet tooth like I do, I recommend topping the peaches with ice cream and caramel sauce. For added crunch, sprinkle them with crushed shortbread cookies, Biscoff cookies, or granola. It’s absolutely delicious!
