Now that the initial craziness of the NFL’s free agency period has passed, fans and analysts have turned most of their attention to the NFL Draft.
This year’s draft is filled with several blue-chip prospects, players who are expected to make an immediate impact when they get to the league.
Many positions are highly touted, including wide receiver, which is the deepest it has been in years.
Most fans know the big-name players, such as Marvin Harrrison Jr, Malik Nabers, and Rome Odunze, who are all slated to be early first-round selections.
However, a name many might not know is Ricky Pearsall from Florida, a player that analyst Greg Cosell has nothing but good things to say about.
Cosell compared him to a few players, as he noted in comments shared by The 33rd Team.
“The more tape I watched, the more two receivers came to mind: Adam Thielen in the NFL and Amon-Ra St. Brown coming out of USC,” Cosell said.
St. Brown and Thielen have had great careers to this point, so for Pearsall to garner these comparisons is undoubtedly positive for his potential draft position in April.
Cosell believes he could be a top-45 pick if teams have a similar read on him, putting him near the top of the second round.
With this draft position, Pearsall could still be the seventh or eighth receiver off the board, but it is still high capital, an indication that the team that selects him would likely call upon him right away.
