There are a number of young, talented and emerging quarterbacks across the NFL who are starting to take their place alongside established stars such as Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen.

One of those young guys is Jordan Love, who started to come on strong late last season in his first year as the starter for the Green Bay Packers.

He led the Packers to an unexpected playoff appearance and Wild Card round win over the Dallas Cowboys and another established QB in Dak Prescott, and Booger McFarland said on ESPN that Love has done enough to earn a long-term contract extension, via NFL on ESPN.

Love was a first-round draft pick in 2020, and for a while, he was being groomed as the successor to Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay.

He finally got his chance in 2023 after Rodgers forced a trade to the New York Jets, but many were skeptical about his chances of becoming a legitimate franchise QB.

Love was lackluster during the first half of the season, but in the last eight games of the regular season, he threw 18 touchdown passes against just one interception.

In that playoff win over Dallas, he thoroughly outplayed Prescott, who was considered an MVP candidate, by throwing three touchdown passes and completing 16 of 21 pass attempts without a single interception.

Now, Green Bay has the appearance of a team that is quickly on the rise, and their fans feel the team has a real shot at toppling the Detroit Lions in order to finish first in the NFC North this coming season.
