Ahead of the 2023 NFL season, the New York Giants made a series of questionable moves, with the team committing to quarterback Daniel Jones with a long-term contract while also only signing star running back Saquon Barkley to a one-year deal.

Although the Giants were coming off an impressive 2022 campaign, with head coach Brian Daboll leading the way for the franchise and breathing new life into the organization, these moves were highly criticized and now are looking worse and worse after an awful 2023 season.

Now the Giants face losing Barkley in NFL free agency and being stuck with Jones, who suffered a season-ending injury this past season.

The Giants could try to move Jones, but that might be a stretch considering he’s coming off an injury and didn’t play well last season, which will be difficult, as Adam Schein of Mad Dog Sports Radio suggests.

It is a shame that things have come to this for the Giants after what the team showed in 2022 and seemed to finally be back in the limelight in the NFL with a potentially bright future on the horizon, with Daboll calling the shots on the sideline.

Now, there’s no telling what the future holds for the Giants, as it could be a rough stretch for New York once again because they’ve got to figure out a way to move off of Jones while upgrading the quarterback position.
