Reviewing players only on film can be deceiving even for the best of analysts.

That’s especially true with the Wisconsin Badgers’ Braelon Allen, at least for one honest analyst.

On the “Ross Tucker Podcast,” analyst Greg Cosell admitted that he “struggled” with evaluating Allen’s prospects for the upcoming draft.

“I struggled with him on tape,” said Cosell.

Cosell noted how with the 235-pound running back, Allen did not run with “a lot of power” despite being a “straight-line runner.”

In the clip, Cosell adds that Allen needs a strong offensive line or else the potential NFL athlete will not excel at the next level.

Without a strong offensive line, Allen would have to become a more physical runner in order to have a strong NFL career, Cosell added.

Several analysts have Allen as one of the first five running backs to be selected in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Multiple NFL franchises are in the market for a new running back this offseason.

Allen played three seasons with Wisconsin, netting 3,768 total yards of offense for the Badgers.

The 6-2 junior from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin rushed for 3,494 yards and 35 touchdowns in his three seasons with the Big Ten team.

The former Wisconsin athlete holds multiple records for the Badgers, including the longest rushing touchdown (96 yards) and the most consecutive games with at least 100 rushing yards by a freshman (seven straight).
