The Super Bowl LVII rematch in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t go in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs as they ended up losing 21-17.

The game was almost the complete opposite of last year’s Super Bowl as it was more of a defensive-centric game this time around.

Patrick Mahomes found it difficult to move the football through the air as Philadelphia clamped down on Travis Kelce and forced him to beat their secondary with the inexperienced receivers on the roster.

The Chiefs actually had a chance to win late in the fourth quarter, but saw Marquez Valdes-Scantling drop the go-ahead touchdown.

That play just about summed up the receiver room in Kansas City this year as none of them have been able to separate themselves on the depth chart.

Making matters worse, the Chiefs announced that both Mecole Hardman and Kadarius Toney will miss their Week 12 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders via Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Both Hardman and Toney haven’t made much of an impact on the passing game this season, but their absences will make it even easier for the Raiders defense to key in on Kelce who has been the only reliable option for Mahomes.

Kansas City has done a better job of leaning into the ground game, so perhaps this means more touches for Isiah Pacheco.

Either way, it’s a blow to an offense that’s struggled to find consistency throughout the season so it’ll be interesting to see how Andy Reid schemes around this.
