Super Bowl LVIII was an instant classic, and although the first two quarters and change weren’t artistic, it is a candidate for the greatest one the NFL has ever had.
One storyline going in was the romance between Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift.
There were many people complaining about how much attention and air time Swift was getting, and there were even conspiracy theories being floated by some in the media.
But ultimately, Swift was shown during the Super Bowl telecast for a total of under 60 seconds, which was a minuscule proportion of the actual broadcast, per Dov Kleiman.
It was a triumphant day and evening for Swift, as her boyfriend helped the Chiefs overcome yet another deficit in the Super Bowl to win his third Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Early on, it looked like the San Francisco 49ers were on the way to toppling the Chiefs, as they got out to a 10-0 lead and were locking down Kansas City defensively.
Kelce was quiet for a large portion of the contest, but he finally got going in the third quarter, and he made some big plays that helped the Chiefs force overtime and ultimately win there.
He finished with nine catches and 93 receiving yards, which led everyone on both teams.
There were rumors going into the Super Bowl that perhaps Kelce would retire this offseason, but he said he will be back next season in order to go for a three-peat, something no NFL team has accomplished in the Super Bowl era.
