Right now, most people agree that the race for the regular-season NFL MVP award has come down to San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and Dallas Cowboys signal-caller Dak Prescott.

While Purdy leads the league in several categories, including pass completion percentage and passer rating, Prescott is the leader in passing touchdowns, and both have been playing brilliant football lately.

But the Miami Dolphins may have a legitimate dark-horse MVP candidate in wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and the Tennessee Titans’ DeAndre Hopkins feels Hill should win the award.

The Dolphins and Titans faced off on Monday in South Florida, and Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowler, had an outstanding game with seven catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.

Hill had to leave the game momentarily with an apparent ankle injury, and he was limited to just four catches and 61 yards.

Miami led 27-13 with less than three minutes left in the fourth quarter after some unforced errors and turnovers by Tennessee, and it looked like they were on their way to victory.

But after giving up a touchdown and two-point conversion, they were unable to move the chains, and Hopkins had a big 36-yard reception, setting up running back Derrick Henry for the go-ahead touchdown just after the two-minute warning.

On the season, Hill has piled up 1,542 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns, and he’s still the NFL’s leader in both categories.

With four games left in the regular season, he still has a shot at becoming the first player in league history to reach 2,000 receiving yards in a single season.
