During his playing career in the NFL, former New Orleans Saints superstar Drew Brees defied the odds as an undersized quarterback who could get the job done under center and ultimately went on to rack up numerous accolades while also winning a Super Bowl.
While being the face of the Saints franchise, Brees was known for being one of the best competitors in the game, as he was as passionate and driven as any quarterback in the league.
Earlier this week, the NFL released the schedule for the upcoming 2024 season, which always gets a lot of coverage and sparks a lot of reactions, with fans circling dates on the calendar for the key matchups they want to see during the regular season.
Although many fans get amped up for the announcement of their favorite team’s schedule, some don’t think the schedule release is anything to get excited about, especially when it comes to the players themselves.
However, Brees recently pushed back against the notion that players don’t care about the schedule, as he said that is when the strategy starts to get put in place for teams and players, via “The Dan Patrick Show.”
“You immediately start to formulate your strategy for the season based on that schedule,” Brees said.
With so many rivalries in the NFL and bad blood that comes from disappointing losses the season prior, players are always anxious to see when they play their rivals or when they’ll get a chance to avenge a loss from last season.
It’ll be interesting to see what matchups turn out to be must-see TV this season.
