For 14 seasons, Greg Olsen was a star tight end in the NFL who was named to the Pro Bowl three times, and he played a key role in the Carolina Panthers reaching the Super Bowl during the 2015 season with 1,104 yards and seven touchdowns.
After retiring, he became a color commentator for FOX Sports’ coverage of NFL games, and in just his second year in that role, he became a member of the network’s No. 1 broadcast team while paired with play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt.
But this coming season, Olsen will be reassigned to the network’s No. 2 team, as legendary quarterback Tom Brady will replace him.
While Brady will reportedly receive a humongous amount of money to be a broadcaster, Olsen will get a major paycut, per Bleacher Report.
Some fans feel bad for Olsen as a result.
But some still think $3 million is a lot for him to simply call NFL games on television.
Brady just participated in a roast that was shown on Netflix, and he was the recipient of some cruel zingers, which led people to wonder why he agreed to such a thing.
One possible explanation is that he’s trying to “humanize” himself ahead of his debut and show people a different side of him after everyone has been used to seeing him wearing a helmet and terrorizing teams.
Brady recently said that he now regrets doing that roast because of the impact he said it had on his kids and that he won’t be doing another one.
