The Pittsburgh Steelers appear to have improved so far in free agency by landing future Hall of Fame quarterback Russell Wilson, as well as star linebacker Patrick Queen.

They managed to win 10 games in 2023 despite an anemic offense, and some may be wondering how they will improve that offense after they agreed to trade wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers.

Per Field Yates, the Steelers’ plan is to draft a wide receiver with the No. 20 pick in next month’s draft, and there could be a good one available there.

This year’s draft is thought to be deep, especially at wideout, and while Pittsburgh won’t be able to draft Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, or Rome Odunze, unless they trade for a higher pick, there are plenty of other intriguing prospects.

Xavier Worthy made headlines by posting the fastest 40-yard-dash time in NFL Scouting Combine history at 4.21 seconds, and while his 165-pound frame is a reason for concern, he should be a major threat when it comes to adding yards after the catch.

Brian Thomas Jr. played alongside Nabers at Louisiana State University, and he caught 68 passes for 1,177 yards and a team-high 17 touchdowns in 2023.

Adonai Mitchell of the University of Texas, who scored 11 touchdowns in 2023, is adept at running routes and is a solid athlete.

The fact that Wilson is 35 means the Steelers won’t have the luxury of waiting for a wide receiver they draft this year to develop — they’ll need one who is NFL-ready right now.

As of now, their only viable threat at the position is George Pickens, who posted 1,140 yards and five touchdowns and had a league-high 18.1 yards per reception in 2023, his second pro season.
