After getting humiliated at SoFi Stadium by the visiting division-rival Las Vegas Raiders, with Antonio Pierce’s squad dropping 63 points on the Los Angeles Chargers, the team decided to part ways with head coach Brandon Staley, which many believed was long overdue.

As a result of the team moving on from Staley, the team headed into the NFL offseason with one of the most attractive head coaching vacancies in the NFL that every big-name head coach available would be interested in.

Ultimately, the Chargers were able to land arguably the best head coach available, with Jim Harbaugh leaving the University of Michigan after winning a national title to be Staley’s successor in Los Angeles.

The move was thought to be one of the best the franchise has made in quite some time and was universally praised by all, including superstar quarterback Justin Herbert.

Herbert spoke publicly for the first time about the Chargers hiring Harbaugh and seems excited about what the immediate future holds for the franchise, via The 33rd Team.

“Fired up,” Herbert said. … He’s had success wherever he goes, and he’s a competitor. He wants to win, and I’m really excited to play for him. … He just wants to win, and that’s a guy you want to play for.”

Although there’s a lot of work to be done with the Chargers’ roster, with the team potentially parting ways with some big-name players during the NFL offseason due to salary cap constraints, Los Angeles will be a team to watch next season with Harbaugh leading the way.

It remains to be seen what moves will be made, but it’s safe to say the Chargers got much better this offseason.
