The Atlanta Falcons officially have their new quarterback.

Kirk Cousins has signed with the team for a four-year deal, ending his tenure with the Minnesota Vikings.

After signing his deal, Cousins spoke to the media for an introductory press conference.

Cousins expressed his excitement about joining the Falcons and expressed his hope that he will bring this team the success it has been anticipating for the past several years.

He also revealed, as reporter Miles Garrett shares, that he helped recruit Darnell Mooney to this roster.

Mooney also comes to the Falcons from the NFC North, where he played for the Chicago Bears.

While Mooney looked good at times with the Bears, he struggled to unlock his potential due to the team’s struggles, particularly at the quarterback position.

With any luck, he and Cousins can develop a good rapport early on, resulting in tremendous success for both players throughout the season.

It might be significant that these two athletes are paired together, but Mooney will have to work hard to earn his targets and opportunities from Cousins.

The Falcons have several young skill-position players who have been waiting for a quarterback like Cousins to come in and make a massive difference on this roster.

Drake London and Kyle Pitts are filled to the brim with potential, and because the Falcons selected both of them as first-round picks, they might be the first two options in this passing attack.

Fans are waiting to see what the Falcons will look like in 2024 and if Cousins will be the one to bring them back to relevancy.
