The top wide receiver prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft is believed to be Marvin Harrison Jr., who is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame wideout Marvin Harrison.
After that, the rankings get a bit murky, but the next-best prospect at that position just might be Malik Nabers from Louisiana State University.
After meeting with teams at the NFL Scouting Combine, Nabers said he feels New York Giants Brian Daboll has taken a liking to him, per Ryan Dunleavy.
Nabers had an outstanding 2023 with 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns, which made him a unanimous All-American and a first-team All-SEC selection.
A former basketball player and track and field athlete in high school, he’s a pretty good athlete, and he has the ability to add yards after the catch.
The Giants badly need some legitimate threats at the skill positions, especially since they may lose star running back Saquon Barkley once free agency opens up later this month.
It has been a while since they’ve had a wideout who has surpassed 1,000 yards, and their leading receiver in 2023 was Darius Slayton, who had a modest 770 yards and four touchdowns.
New York was 28th in passing touchdowns, 30th in points scored, and 31st in passing yards in 2023, and they could use some help for quarterback Daniel Jones, who still seems like a below-average passing threat after five pro seasons.
They will have the No. 6 pick in April’s draft, and they could be positioned to take Nabers, as the Los Angeles Chargers, who are at No. 5, are rumored to be interested in taking an offensive lineman.
