With the 2024 NFL Draft right around the corner, a lot is being said about the top quarterbacks coming out of the college game to take their talents to the NFL level, with all eyes on the Chicago Bears, who own the No. 1 overall pick on April 25.

As of right now, there’s only a handful of quarterbacks that are getting a lot of buzz, with Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels being the consensus top-three quarterbacks in next month’s draft.

Although these three quarterbacks will be battling it out for draft position, there are a few other intriguing players at quarterback that will be in the upcoming draft like Michael Penix Jr. out of the University of Washington.

Despite not being considered to be a quarterback that will be taken at the top of the draft, Penix is still a respected player in the draft, and was recently asked who he believes are the top-five quarterbacks in the league today, via NFL on CBS.

“My top-five quarterbacks? I’ll say, you got to go Pat Mahomes,” Penix said. “Lamar Jackson is there. I feel like Joe Burrow is up there. I am going to put Brock Purdy in there just because of things he was able to do. A lot of people doubted him and even in the championship game I feel like he felt real confident. … Justin Herbert. I feel like he’s a very good passer as well.”

Penix’s top-five quarterbacks are pretty spot on, with the only exception being not including Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, who usually makes this list when players are asked the same question.

However, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and Penix’s list isn’t that bad at all, even though he’ll get some flak for adding Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers.
