With technology getting better and better every year and being implemented in professional sports more and more often, it seems as though it is time for the NFL to take a step into the future and make its game more efficient than ever before.

With referees doing a poor job and bad spots on the football field being a common theme in the NFL from year to year, the league may finally be leaning toward technology to solve some of its on-field problems.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the NFL has been testing some new on-field technology, which could ultimately mean the end of the chain gang, which is something that probably should’ve happened a long time ago.

This technology was tested in two different stadiums and during the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, which means it could be close to becoming a reality in the league.

Any time drastic changes like these get made in professional sports, especially in the NFL, it comes with a fair amount of criticism and skepticism, and that’ll likely be no different when the league rolls out this new on-field technology.

However, this could be a good thing as it means calls get made probably in order to move the football up and down the field, which should be a game-changer, even though it’s bound to have its issues and backlash from people who don’t want to change the game.

It’ll be interesting to see how this all pans out and if the NFL can pull it off.
