After very disappointing 2022 and 2023 seasons, the Las Vegas Raiders have a new coaching staff, headlined by new permanent head coach Antonio Pierce and offensive coordinator Luke Getsy.

They have ample talent on offense, including star wide receiver Davante Adams and solid WR2 Jakobi Meyers, but they have a big hole at quarterback, as veteran Jimmy Garoppolo simply didn’t work out this season.

The Raiders will have the No. 13 pick in April’s draft, and while they won’t get to select someone such as Caleb Williams or Jayden Daniels, Getsy feels there is intrigue in this year’s QB crop, per ProFootballTalk.

“It’s obviously an impressive one,” Getsy said. “There’s a lot of different flavors. I’m gonna have a lot of fun diving into it. I haven’t gotten to that point where I can give you the evaluation on each guy, but watching from afar — watching that college football season — I think this is a pretty cool year.”

Garoppolo was signed last offseason after the San Francisco 49ers moved on from him following the emergence of Brock Purdy, and it was hoped that Garoppolo’s experience and ability as a game manager would result in a return to the playoffs for Las Vegas.

Instead, he battled injuries and threw for just 1,205 yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions in seven games before being benched.

Rookie Aidan O’Connell replaced him under center, but O’Connell wasn’t much better, throwing for 2,218 yards and 12 touchdowns while posting an 83.9 passer rating in 11 contests.

There could be some intriguing QBs available this offseason, including Kirk Cousins, a four-time Pro Bowler, and Russell Wilson, a nine-time Pro Bowler who led the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl championship 10 years ago.

Wilson is expected to be released by the Denver Broncos after they failed to make the playoffs in two seasons with him, meaning the Raiders should have plenty of options for their next quarterback.
