The Baltimore Ravens are gearing up for what they hope will be a run at their third Super Bowl championship after falling short last year in the AFC Championship Game.

They have made a number of noteworthy additions this offseason, and they, of course, have the NFL’s reigning regular-season MVP in quarterback Lamar Jackson.

On Wednesday, Tom Pelissero reported that the Ravens are signing special teamer Deonte Harty to a one-year contract.

Harty is a kickoff and punt return specialist, and he led the league as a rookie in 2019 with 338 yards on punt returns, which helped him get named to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro First Team that season.

He went undrafted in 2019 and signed with the New Orleans Saints, the team he played for until he signed with the Buffalo Bills prior to last season.

In 2023, he returned a punt in Week 18 against the Miami Dolphins 96 yards for a touchdown, making it the longest punt return all year across the NFL.

Harty has also occasionally lined up on offense as a wide receiver, and in five pro seasons, he has totaled 79 catches for 943 yards and five touchdowns.

Baltimore made headlines this offseason by landing free-agent running back Derrick Henry, the four-time Pro Bowler who in 2020 became one of a handful of players to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season.

Even though they were already first in points allowed last season, they upgraded their defense by bringing in linebacker Patrick Queen, an emerging player who made the Pro Bowl in 2023.

Head coach John Harbaugh and crew are hoping all these additions will elevate them over the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs and allow them to win it all this winter.
