To say that the Cleveland Browns ran an undermanned offense in 2023 could be a huge understatement.
They had Deshaun Watson, PJ Walker, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and Joe Flacco starting games at quarterback for them, and turnovers were a usual sight more often than not.
Even so, and despite a shortage of talent at wide receiver behind Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore, and even with Watson and Nick Chubb suffering season-ending injuries, they still managed to make the playoffs, mostly thanks to their elite defense.
With that in mind, former NFL QB Robert Griffin III looked quite excited about his former team going after Jerry Jeudy.
He took to Twitter to congratulate them for going all-in, stating that they will now have dynamic weapons on offense to complement their championship-caliber defense.
“The Browns are already a playoff team with a DOMINANT DEFENSE. Adding Jerry Jeudy gives them a dynamic core of offensive weapons,” Griffin said.
The former Heisman trophy winner adds that the Browns will now be able to deploy a lineup with TE David Njoku next to Amari Cooper and Jerry Jeudy, all while Elijah Moore lines up at the slot and Nick Chubb does his thing out of the backfield.
Of course, Chubb has yet to fully recover from his season-ending injury, and while he might not be back on the field at the start of training camp, he might need even more time to be able to make a true impact.
The same can be said of Deshaun Watson, who left something to be desired before suffering a season-ending injury.
Whatever the case, it’s a fact that this team looks better and more dangerous now.
