The Miami Dolphins should be in contention in the AFC during the 2024 NFL season after supplementing their roster through free agency and the draft.
The Dolphins’ bread and butter will always be their offense because head coach Mike McDaniel has found ways to maximize the speed and talent on that side of the football.
Between Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert, and De’Von Achane, Miami’s arguably the fastest offensive team in the league and should be able to light up scoreboards again.
Tua Tagovailoa has looked like the the first-round quarterback Miami was hoping for when they drafted him No. 5 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Tagovailoa is coming off his first Pro Bowl season and is expected to command much more money on his contract extension.
While the Dolphins have yet to sign him to a new deal, Robert Griffin III believes Tagovailoa is in line for a massive payday, via “The Ones.”
“Tua has earned his money,” Griffin said. “It’s a little bit of, ‘What else can you do?’ Like, who else is out there that you’re gonna go grab that’s gonna be a better player for you than Tua Tagovailoa with the weapons that you have and the chemistry that you have on the team?”
Griffin’s got a great point that Miami doesn’t really have any other options in the market to replace Tagovailoa with and they’re better off re-signing him and keeping the continuity on the roster.
While Tagovailoa might not be considered in the upper echelon of the position, he’s more than serviceable and deserves a deal that reflects that.
