A number of NFC teams helped themselves out in a big way this offseason between free agency and the draft, and the conference as a whole looks like it will be deeper and more competitive this coming season.
The Arizona Cardinals have played very poorly over the last two seasons, going 4-13 both years while dealing with an ACL injury to Kyler Murray and a coaching change.
But help is on the way in the form of No. 4 overall pick Marvin Harrison Jr., and as a result, Pete Prisco of CBS Sports feels the Cardinals can make the playoffs as soon as this coming season.
Harrison is arguably the best wide receiver in this year’s draft, and he comes from great stock, as his father, Marvin Harrison, was a Hall of Fame wideout for the Indianapolis Colts in the 1990s and 2000s.
The younger Harrison scored 14 receiving touchdowns and went over 1,200 receiving yards in both of the last two seasons at Ohio State, and he seems to have all the tools needed to be great at the next level.
But he wasn’t the only potential star Arizona nabbed in the draft.
They also took edge rusher Darius Robinson from the University of Missouri with the No. 27 pick, a pick they acquired from the Houston Texans.
In addition to Murray, Arizona has a productive running back in James Connor, a solid tight end in Trey McBride, and a Pro Bowl safety in Budda Baker.
Making the playoffs won’t be easy for them, but they shouldn’t be taken lightly either.
