After landing the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft for a second straight year, the Chicago Bears decided it was finally time to take a quarterback, with the storied franchise bringing in USC superstar Caleb Williams.
With Williams being arguably the best prospect in the draft and a franchise quarterback right out of the gate, it was an easy decision for the Bears to make, as he was easily the best player available at his position and considered a potential game-changer.
As if bringing in a potential superstar in the making at the quarterback position wasn’t good enough for Chicago, the team also owned the No. 9 overall pick, where they could get another game-changing player on the offensive side of the football.
That player turned out to be wide receiver Rome Odunze, who is considered the third-best prospect at his position in this draft class behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers.
During the NFL’s Rookie Premiere, Bears fans got a first look at their two new star rookies in uniform, via the BFR Podcast.
At this point in time, there’s no telling whether Williams or Odunze will pan out in the NFL while playing for the Bears, as there’s been a lot of hype surrounding both players, who played exceptionally well in college.
However, they will both get their time to shine immediately in Chicago, as they are expected to be starters when the Bears get their season underway in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans on September 8 at Soldier Field.
