After acquiring superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers last year, the New York Jets were thought to be must-see TV in the NFL, as many believed the storied franchise would be a legitimate Super Bowl title contender during the 2023 campaign.

One of the main reasons for this optimism surrounding the Jets was the team being dominant defensively, with players like elite cornerback Sauce Gardner leading the way on that side of the football.

Unfortunately, Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the first quarter against the division-rival Buffalo Bills in Week 1, which completely derailed New York’s season.

Fortunately for the Jets, the team has an opportunity to bounce back during the 2024 NFL season, with Rodgers healthy and ready to get this team back on track offensively and the defense looking to do the same.

However, the upcoming 2024 campaign will be anything but easy for the Jets defensively, especially when it comes to Gardner’s projected assignments on the field, via PFF.

Needless to say, Gardner is going to have his hands full from start to finish during the 2024 season, as he’ll be going head-to-head against some of the league’s best wide receivers every single week.

Although Gardner will be facing some tough competition, the young star on the rise in New York always seems up for the challenge, as he faces Garrett Wilson in practice all the time and is prepared to take on the best of the best at the wide receiver position in the NFL.
