The Atlanta Falcons look like a team on the rise heading into the 2024 NFL season as they made a big splash in free agency.

The Falcons lured Kirk Cousins away from the Minnesota Vikings with a massive four-year deal worth up to $180 million with $100 million guaranteed.

It’s quite the deal for Cousins who is coming off an Achilles tear he suffered midway through the 2023 NFL season, though he was expected to be the best quarterback in the market.

With Cousins under center, it should unlock the young offensive talent on Atlanta’s roster and perhaps propel them to an NFC South division title.

The Falcons will also be able to add another difference maker in the 2024 NFL Draft as they own the No. 8 overall pick.

However, Cam Newton is already looking ahead to the 2025 NFL Draft and believes Atlanta should seriously consider taking Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders via Club Shay Shay.

“If Prime can get Shedeur in Atlanta, all businesses including @MagicCity will be appreciative of that pick right there,” Newton said.

Deion Sanders publicly said that he already has an idea of where he wants his son to play and it sounds like Newton thinks that he could have been alluding to the Falcons.

Deion added that he didn’t want Shedeur to play for a cold-weather team, and Atlanta fits the bill.

While Shannon Sharpe brings up the fact that the Falcons just paid Cousins, Newton remained steadfast in his belief that they should still take a swing on Shedeur if he’s available.
