Football fans will be able to enjoy a treat this weekend when the Buffalo Bills host the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs.
These two teams were involved in one of the greatest playoff games ever two years ago, and this matchup features two of the game’s best quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs and Buffalo’s Josh Allen.
While Mahomes has been mediocre versus Buffalo in four career regular-season games against them, his two postseason games against them have been a different story, per NFL on ESPN.
In that epic playoff game against the Bills two years ago, Mahomes completed 33 of 44 pass attempts for 378 yards and three touchdowns, and he delivered the game-winning pass in overtime to star tight end Travis Kelce.
The previous year, the Chiefs and Bills met to decide the AFC championship, and in that conference title game, Mahomes was 29 of 38 for 325 yards and three touchdown passes.
While Kansas City won the Super Bowl last year, they aren’t what they used to be, especially at the wide receiver position, where they don’t have the services of Tyreek Hill or even JuJu Smith-Schuster anymore.
Their wideouts have dropped many passes this season, especially in crunch time, and it appears to be a troubling sign for them.
The Bills are favored in Sunday’s game, especially since they will be at home, but Mahomes is very capable of working his usual magic and delivering an upset win, even though this will be his first-ever road playoff contest.
