Talking trash is a part of several sports, including football, and dealing with it is a part of playing in and trying to excel in the NFL.

Some players may take it personally when an opponent throws shade at them, but others either take it in stride or even use it as motivation.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow isn’t one of the league’s biggest trash-talkers, but he says he’s “pro taunting” and that he doesn’t take it as an insult when he’s on the receiving end, per Dov Kleiman.

Burrow does what he does somewhat quietly, and he never seems to get rattled, which has earned him comparisons to Tom Brady and Joe Montana, two men who were as cool as the other side of the pillow.

The 2023 season was a trying one for him, as he was never seemingly healthy, and those health problems took town the Bengals’ chances of competing for the Super Bowl championship.

During training camp, Burrow suffered a strained calf, and it hampered him early in the regular season, causing him to put up some alarmingly poor numbers.

In October, he was starting to look like his usual self, but his season came to an early end in Week 11 when he sustained a wrist injury.

When healthy, Cincinnati is as good as any team in the NFL, at least on paper, and with Burrow at the controls, they’re always a threat to go all the way.

While there are trade rumors surrounding wide receiver Tee Higgins — the current rumor is that he could be headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers — the team is still very strong.

They added defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins this offseason, and if healthy, they may have the best chance of any AFC team of knocking off the two-time Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs.
