After flaming out during the 2023 NFL season, the New York Giants will have a big decision to make during the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Giants hold the No. 6 overall pick and could go in a number of directions offensively.
Most evaluators have New York taking one of the wide receivers at that spot, namely Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze.
However, the Giants could also be a sneaky quarterback destination given the injury to Daniel Jones and his struggles to stay healthy.
Jones is currently recovering from a torn ACL and his status for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season remains up in the air.
Regardless of Jones’s health, though, Marcus Spears of ESPN believes the Giants should throw caution to the wind and find a way to draft a quarterback.
“I don’t know if the Giants can get into position to take a Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye or Caleb Williams, but if they can, they need to forget about Malik Nabers and the top wide receivers, and figure out how to get one of those quarterbacks,” Spears said.
Quarterback is the most important position in football and if New York can snag someone like Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye then they should absolutely do it.
Caleb Williams will be going No. 1 overall to the Chicago Bears, so the Giants would likely need to move up to land either Daniels or Maye.
The New England Patriots might be the team to call as they appear open to moving down to acquire more draft picks and rebuild their roster.
Either way, New York needs an infusion of talent offensively and should try to improve where they can.
