The Kansas City Chiefs have a chance to do something unprecedented in 2024 as they try to win a third consecutive Super Bowl championship.

Kansas City’s offense may have taken a dip in the 2023 NFL season, but their defense and the brilliance of Patrick Mahomes carried them to a win in Super Bowl LVIII over the San Francisco 49ers.

Mahomes is the clear-cut best quarterback in the league and will raise his game to different levels once the postseason rolls around.

The three-time Super Bowl MVP shows no signs of slowing down and is poised for another strong season in 2024 where the Chiefs are widely projected to win the AFC West again.

When it comes to scoring touchdowns, there’s no harder quarterback to defend than Mahomes and he is lapping the field in regards to playoff touchdowns, via Sharp Football.

Warren Sharp noted how Mahomes has 46 playoff touchdowns through the first seven years of his career.

The closest player to him in that ranking is Josh Allen, with 27.

Mahomes has 19 more postseason touchdowns than the next person on the list.

That level of production and effectiveness is unheard of which should give fans even more reason not to take Mahomes for granted.

Given his age and talent, it’s hard to imagine Mahomes slowing down any time soon, which in turn means the Chiefs should be contenders up until he’s on his way out of the league.
