Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has gradually raised his game in his four seasons in the NFL, and he can now be objectively considered a star.

In 2023, he threw for 4,624 yards, which led the league, while also notching 29 passing touchdowns and completing 69.3 percent of his pass attempts.

Some still feel he is only slightly above average, but former NFL signal-caller Robert Griffin III said on ESPN that Tagovailoa is one of the five best QBs in the game, via FinsXtra on Twitter.

Tagovailoa will head into the last season of his rookie contract, and Griffin feels the Dolphins must absolutely open up their wallets for him because of his excellent play.

Some criticized him for missing four games in 2022, but in those four games, the Fins went 1-3 and barely topped the 20-point mark just once.

Last season, they had the NFL’s second-highest scoring offense and finished first in passing yards and rushing touchdowns, allowing them to finish with an 11-6 record and only their fourth playoff berth in the last 20-plus years.

After suffering multiple concussions in 2022, Tagovailoa appeared in all 17 games in 2023 and proved that he can be durable.

Miami was accused of being imposters last season despite their strong record, as they defeated only one team that finished with a winning record, and in the playoffs, they promptly fell to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs by 19 points.

But Tagovailoa was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time, and he is starting to become seasoned.

Miami will face a challenge in 2024 without departed star defenders Xavien Howard, Christian Wilkins, and Jerome Baker, but they certainly have the offense to make lots of noise.
