This BLT Dip recipe is about to become your new go-to appetizer for everything. Get ready for crispy bacon, tangy tomatoes, and creamy deliciousness all piled into one glorious bowl.
I first had my first BLT dip experience at a Christmas party a few months ago and stood by that BLT dip bowl all night long, and by the end of the night, my husband and I had eaten the entire bowl! 😯
After this first BLT dip encounter, I vowed to improve on this already amazing dip with some elevated, healthy touches so that when you binge eat the entire bowl, you won't feel too guilty about it! 🤗
I start by using clean ingredients such as seed oil free mayo (Chosen foods is my go-to and a good price at Costco), roma tomatoes for concentrated tomato flavor in every bite, and celtic sea salt to add a touch of salt AND minerals. Side note, Celtic sea salt is my go-to salt for everything as it's loaded in magnesium and other trace minerals. I don't serve ANY dish without celtic sea salt as my final ingredient as a finishing salt. In this recipe I add the celtic sea salt to the tomatoes before putting them in the dip, just like you would add salt to your tomatoes on a classic BLT.
Lastly, adding freshly chopped basil is the aromatic touch that every BLT deserves, which helps elevate this dip above other BLT dip recipes. In my opinion, it's the small touches like high-quality ingredients and the aromatic burst of fresh herbs, that set this dip apart.

You've been warned that this BLT dip is highly addictive! You will park yourself in front of this dip until there is none left!
Ingredients
You can skip to the recipe card below if you are ready to get started!
- 1 pound nitrate-free bacon (nitrates are not your friend and shown to cause cancer so look for nitrate free at the store)
- 1 cup mayonnaise (I'm obsessed with Chosen Foods mayo – seed oil free and totally delicious, plus a great price at Costco!), Primal Kitchen is another great option
- 1 cup organic sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a healthier swap)
- 2-3 ripe medium sized Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
- 1 handful fresh basil, thinly chopped
- ½ teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)- I prefer this brand of Celtic sea salt for adding taste AND vital minerals like magnesium!
- Freshly ground black pepper
How to Make BLT Dip
- Bacon Bliss 🥓: Let's get that bacon sizzling! Nobody likes floppy bacon. I cook bacon on a wire baking rack on top of a 9X13 pan lined in parchment paper to capture the grease in the oven at 375 degrees Farenheight for 2-25 minutes until the fat has rendered off. You can alternately cook the bacon in a skillet. Once it's cooled slightly, crumble most of it, reserving a few glorious pieces for garnish.
- Creamy Dream 🥣: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayo and sour cream (or Greek yogurt). Get it nice and smooth, like you're creating the base for a masterpiece.
- Tomatoes need a touch of Salt 🍅🧂: Just like I salt the tomatoes on my BLT, I add the salt to the chopped tomatoes before adding them into the dip.
- BLT Magic :🥪 Add the crumbled bacon (remember, reserve some!), diced tomato, and basil to the creamy mixture. Season generously with salt and pepper. Don't be afraid to taste and adjust!
- Chill Out 🥶: This is the hardest part. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld and become even more amazing. If you're short on time, you can skip this step, but trust me, it's worth the wait.
- Serve and Conquer 💪: Transfer the BLT dip to a pretty serving bowl. Garnish with the reserved bacon crumbles and maybe a few extra chives for good measure. Now, for the dippers…

Substitutions and Variations
- Spice it Up 🌶️: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce for a little kick.
- Cheesy Goodness 🧀: Mix in some shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese for an extra layer of flavor.
- Healthier Twist 🇬🇷: Swap the sour cream for Greek yogurt for a lighter version and make sure to use seed oil free mayo. (If you don't know about seed oils, read my article with a list of seed oils to avoid).
- Dipping Options 🥖: Organic crackers are always a good choice. Look for varieties with minimal ingredients and no seed oils (hard to find!). For a low-carb option, pork rinds are surprisingly delicious with this dip. Veggie sticks like celery, carrots, cucumbers, and bell peppers add healthy crunch. Toasted baguette slices or mini pitas are also fantastic for scooping.
