French Toast Breakfast Sliders

One of my favorite meals of the day is breakfast. Having a griddle, breakfast got that much better. The variety of breakfast sandwiches I’ve made are countless and each time it seems they get better. These french toast breakfast sliders are packed with all my favorite morning flavors. Savoriness from the bacon and sausage, richness from the eggs and sweetness from the french toast buns. YUM!

Step 1: Best French Toast.

Everyone has their version of the best french toast recipe. I’ve tried so many but I think I found my go to.

In a bowl add eggs yolks, milk, heavy cream, cinnamon, nutmeg and my new rub. More info on that coming soon! Whisk the ingredients together and set aside.

Step 2: Pork all day every day.

A breakfast slider is not complete without the bacon. Preheat the griddle to a medium heat and place a few strips of thick cut bacon on the flat top.

While that is cooking, it’s time to prepare the sausage patty. My go to is Jimmy Dean. Take an entire roll and flatten to about 1/2 inch thick and shape to the size of the Kings Hawaiian Slider loaf. Season with Dad’s All Purpose rub and place it on the grill.

Don’t forget to flip the bacon!

Cooking Tips:

  • If you prefer a leaner meat, use some turkey bacon and sausage. Also great alternatives that will still result in a delicious morning treat.
  • I added some cheese in my sliders. You can add the slices on top of the patty while still on the grill, or place them on the patty before laying the warm eggs on top like I did. The heat from the eggs will gently melt the cheese giving it the perfect bite.

Step 3: Eggs.

Last but not least are the eggs. In a cup, whisk a few eggs together. On a clean section of the griddle, slowly pour them on the flat top shaping them into a rectangle shape like the sausage patty earlier. Place a cover over the top to ensure the eggs cook evenly. I don’t recommend trying to flipping it.

While that is cooking, slice the entire Kings Hawaiian slider loaf in half and dunk both pieces in the french toast mixture you made earlier. Place inside down first on the griddle and let it cook. This should take no more than 2 minutes per side.

Once all your individual pieces are cooked, it’s time to assemble. At the end, drizzle or dunk each french toast breakfast slider in some maple syrup and enjoy!
