With a guide price of £2,150,000 – £2,550,000, this one definitely isn’t coming cheap but this glorious 1954 Ferrari 625 F1 is exceptionally rare and it is the sister car to Ferrari’s first World Championship-winning car, the extremely successful 500 F2, which took Alberto Ascari to back-to-back World Championships in 1952 and 1953.

There is a lot of heritage to this lot from RM Sotheby’s and it was the only Ferrari monoposto ever raced by the legendary Marquis Alfonso de Portago so, if you’re a fan of legendary motor-racing and happen to have incredibly deep pockets, this 1954 Ferrari 625 F1 is definitely for you. In December 2000, a discerning collector from Cologne, Germany, acquired this exceptional Ferrari, meticulously maintaining it over 21 years to ensure its present outstanding condition. In April 2022, the Ferrari underwent an inspection by Ferrari Classiche, confirming its authenticity with matching chassis and engine numbers and verifying the gearbox as the correct type for the model.
