Ajisai Hill House

Vietnam is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful countries on the planet so far as its landscapes are concerned and they are rapidly catching up in terms of the quality of their modern architecture and there are few better examples of this in action than Ajisai Hill House from Idee Architects.

Located close to the Tam Dao Mountain range, Ajisai Hill House from Idee Architects is afforded some truly outstanding views of the surrounding countryside and it is one of the most luxurious pieces of architecture we’ve seen in a while here at The Coolector. The client wants a spacious, nature-oriented home with a sense of privacy on a 1000m2 lot with stunning views. However, the steep terrain and high elevation will make access and construction challenging and this is something the architects had to factor into the design.

The architect’s solution to the issues faced with the position of the home divides the property into two distinct blocks. The upper block is at the highest point of the land, allowing for a vast amount of natural light and ventilation. The lower block houses the garage and other auxiliary functions and serves as the main point of access from the road at the front of the property. A dedicated elevator block ascends directly to join with the main part of Ajisai Hill House via a steel bridge, which takes visitors through the home’s breathtaking garden and swimming pool area.

Ajisai Hill House is predominantly made of steel and wood, with stone cladding to protect it from the ever changing elements in Vietnam. The wood and awnings take their design inspiration from traditional Vietnamese architecture, with its rows of columns and symmetrical spaces. The main walkway is centrally positioned between the house and the various open spaces, connecting the front yard to the rear. The elevated levels gradually open up new views, linking the house to its surroundings. Another amazing piece of architecture from Vietnam.
